Review: The Crooked Street

The Crooked Street The Crooked Street by Brian Freeman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

O-M-G!!!

I am still reeling from how damn good this book was. And the cliffhanger that Mr Freeman left us with has me going crazy! Now I can't wait for the next book in this series!!!

But I digress... Abit about the book itself.

A blast from the past
Having fallen out years ago, Frost has not seen his old friend Denny in years. So when Denny stumbles onto his doorstep, dying, with only one word - Lombard - on his lips, Frost is utterly confounded. Who is Lombard really? Why does the whole damn city seem to fear hearing that name? And what's the deal with several mysterious deaths taking place, and a painted red snake appearing near the scene of each death?

Those are just some of the questions that Frost has to grapple with, while trying to dig deeper. And taking on an organization that seems to have eyes and ears everywhere (and I do mean everywhere!) has Frost understandably cautious. In a race against time to unravel the mystery, Frost must ensure that he watches his back and come out alive.

This book was absolutely enthralling. And dammit, that ending... Yes, I'm still ranting about it!
